These dairy delights also are very soothing to the complexion. Try the following homemade spa recipes to pamper your body. And for an added bonus, be sure to include 3 servings of dairy in your daily diet.

Honey Kissed Yogurt Facial

Here’s a facial treat that’s good enough to eat! Afterwards, enjoy a yogurt parfait: Layer 1 cup of yogurt with your favorite fruit and crunchy cereal. Top with a dollop of honey.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • Directions

Mash avocado into small bowl. Mix in yogurt and honey. Apply thoroughly to face and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, then use cold water to close the pores. Refrigerate any remaining product (will keep for 2 days in refrigerator.)

Milk & Oatmeal Foot Scrub

Try this dairy-good remedy for tired feet. And the next time you make oatmeal for your “insides,” use milk instead of water for an extra boost of calcium and a creamy taste.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract or 1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves, crushed (optional)

  • Directions

Mix all ingredients well. Massage gently into feet. Relax with feet in basin for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

Cocoa Comfort Milk Bath

Sooth your mind and body with this special treat. While soaking in your milk bath, sip on a warm cup of creamy hot chocolate or a mocha latte.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg

  • Directions

Run a warm bath. Add all ingredients as water fills tub. Soak to your heart’s content!
