Pennsylvania Dairy Farmer Chosen as ‘Unstoppable Mom”

Mary Lou King’s story of unwavering devotion to her family and long hours as a dairy farmer captured America’s attention in LIVE with Kelly and Michael’s Unstoppable Moms contest. Voters chose King, a dairy farmer from Cochranville, Pa., to win the $100,000 grand prize earlier this month. “God Made a Farmer” Video Salutes Dairy Farmers

One of the standout commercials of Super Bowl XLVII was an emotional ad for the Dodge Ram called “God Made a Farmer.” Narrated by legendary broadcaster Paul Harvey, many were moved by Harvey’s essay on the virtues of the American farmer, which he delivered to the Future Farmers of America (FFA) in 1978. It says:

“God said, ‘I need somebody willing to get up before dawn, milk cows, work all day in the fields, milk cows again, eat supper, then go to town and stay past midnight at a meeting of the school board.’ So God made a farmer.”
