Food Bank of Delaware

The Food Bank of Delaware has a number of objectives with their grant money, including strengthening collaboration between the Food Bank and the University of Delaware Greater Newark Boys and Girls Club and educating low income individuals about proper health and nutrition within a limited budget.

The Food Bank is working on the following:

  • Evaluating the barriers to milk consumption in adolescents.
  • Developing a Milk Health Awareness Day to promote the benefits of milk for adolescents.
  • Developing a Milk Health curriculum that can be utilized in after-school and school feeding programs.
  • Increasing milk and milk product consumption in after school feeding programs
  • Creating and managing a peer counseling program at a site that will help empower adolescents to educate other adolescents.
