American Academy of Pediatrics Recommends Dairy for Children with Lactose Intolerance

The American Heart Association published its 2007 Guidelines for Preventing Cardiovascular Disease in Women on Feb. 19, 2007, in a special women’s health issue of Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association.

The new AHA recommendations mark the latest call-to-action for women to establish healthy lifestyle and eating habits by emphasizing the importance of including lowfat dairy foods, fruits and vegetables in their diets. The 2005 Dietary Guidelines also encourages Americans to increase their intake of foods from these nutrient-rich food groups. 

Consuming three servings of milk, cheese or yogurt a day is a great way to enjoy the benefits of dairy foods as part of a healthy diet. It also may reduce the risk of osteoporosis, hypertension, kidney stones and colon cancer.  For complete AHA Guidelines visit:
