Fuel Up to Play 60, the in-school nutrition and physical activity program launched by National Dairy Council, Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association and the National Football League, in collaboration with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), is helping to make wellness part of the game plan in more than 70,000 schools across the country. The program includes:

  • An easy-to-follow online Game Plan with the “Six Steps to Fuel Up to Play 60
  • Playbook with more than 60 Healthy Eating and Physical Activity strategies
  • Student Ambassador program, Youth Challenges, and online wellness tracking f0r students

What is a Fuel Up to Play 60 Touchdown School?

  • Touchdown Schools will complete all Six Steps by April 1, 2012.
  • Touchdown Schools have Program Advisors who track progress toward completion of the Six Steps online at FuelUpToPlay60.com.

Student Ambassador Program

The State Representative and National Student Ambassador application is now open on FuelUpToPlay60.com. If you have inspiring student leaders at your school, encourage them to apply for the program and represent Fuel Up to Play 60 on a state or national stage. Selected students and their Program Advisors will have the opportunity to attend the 2012 Student Ambassador Summit. Direct students to their Dashboards to locate the application, which is open through January 31, 2012.

The Student Ambassador Program gives students a voice in the Fuel Up to Play 60 program. Student Ambassadors work with other student leaders, inspiring their peers to get healthy, get active and make a difference. Being a part of the program gives students a platform to make positive changes in their school’s nutrition and fitness programs through Fuel Up to Play 60.

Funding Opportunities for Fuel Up to Play 60

Funding is available to K to 12 schools enrolled  in Fuel Up to Play 60. This competitive, nationwide funding program can help jumpstart and sustain healthy nutrition and physical activity improvements at your school. Whether you’re just starting out with Fuel Up to Play 60 or looking to expand a “play” that’s already in motion, funding opportunities can help. The next application deadline is February 1, 2012.
