Orange Non-Alcoholic Eggnog Float

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs or 1 cup of pasteurized egg substitute *
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 5 1/2 cups fresh orange juice, chilled
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1 quart lowfat vanilla ice cream
  • 1 quart diet ginger ale, chilled

Directions

Beat the eggs and sugar until light. Stir in the orange and the lemon juice. Place small scoops of ice cream in the punch bowl. Pour the ginger ale against the sides of the bowl. Add the orange juice slowly, stirring gently. Serve immediately.

* NOTE
There is a one in 10,000 chance that the eggs in your nog could contain harmful bacteria. To avoid this risk, heat the eggs slowly (you don't want them scrambled!) to 160 degrees Fahrenheit before using. You can also use 1 cup of pasteurized egg substitute in this recipe and skip the heating step, if you wish.
