Karen Prem Is Director of Marketing for Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association

PHILADELPHIA (February 3, 2004) - Karen Prem has been named director of marketing for Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association, it was announced recently.

A four-year veteran of the organization, Prem will be responsible for managing the marketing staff, overseeing implementation of local, retail, vending and sponsorship marketing programs, and participating in the development of Dairy Management Inc.'s Unified Marketing Plan.

Prem previously was a member of Mid-Atlantic's nutrition education and marketing team, where she marketed dairy nutrition programs to schools, actively served on the Virginia Action for Healthy Kids team, and served as liaison to the District of Columbia Action for Healthy Kids team.

Prem, a registered dietitian, earned a bachelor's of science degree in dietetics from James Madison University and a master of business administration in marketing from Old Dominion University. She is an active member of the Northern District Virginia Dietetic Association and Virginia Dietetic Association. In 2001, Prem was named "Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year" in Virginia.

Prem and her husband, Michael, live in Fairfax, Va. She works out of Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association's Reston, Va., office.

Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association is a regional promotion organization funded by dairy farmers to increase dairy product demand in the Mid-Atlantic region through advertising, communication and nutrition education programs.
