HERSHEY’S Chocolate World Unveils an Interactive and Dynamic New Chocoalte Making Tour Experience
HERSHEY, PA (MARCH 29, 2006) Hershey’s Chocolate World attraction will debut its new, interactive chocolate-making tour experience on April 1, 2006. The $5 million update to Hershey’s Great American Chocolate Tour features 22 newly renovated sets, new characters, innovative special effects, dramatic lighting, and an unforgettable dynamic finale.
“The new tour is incredible,” said Don Papson, Vice President, The Hershey Experience. “We’ve taken consumer interaction with our brands to a whole new level. The tour ride immerses consumers in the fun and magic of our brands. Consumers will be dazzled by this one-of-a-kind experience.
In celebration of the new chocolate making tour experience, Hershey’s Chocolate World attraction will hold grand opening activities on Saturday, April 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The first 1,000 visitors to take the tour will receive a limited edition, 8 oz Hershey’s milk chocolate bar with a grand opening wrapper.
- All visitors will enjoy a free Hershey’s Kissables brand candy coated chocolates at the end of the tour.
- Visitors can learn the art of chocolate tasting at Hershey’s Chocolate Tasting Party from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Get your picture taken with a chocolate milk mustache sponsored by Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Visitors to the grand opening of the new tour experience will meet a trio of amazingly interactive and entertaining cows. The crooning cows proudly point out that wholesome milk is an indispensable ingredient in Hershey’s milk chocolate. Hershey’s Chocolate World attraction also will announce the winner of the “Got Cow Names?” contest, a joint promotion with the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association. More than 2,700 names from all 50 states were received for the singing sisters. The grand prize winner was Sherrie Davis from Enola, Pa., who submitted Gabby, Harmony and Olympia as the sisters’ new names.
The chocolate-making tour has hosted more than 63 million in its 33-year history, making Hershey’s Chocolate World attraction, with nearly 3 million annual visitors, the nation’s most popular corporate attraction.
