Dairy Promotion Groups Working Together at 2006 Ag Progress Days

CARLISLE, Pa. (August 7, 2006) - Dairy farmers are invited to the 2006 Ag Progress Days to learn more about how dairy checkoff programs help increase demand for dairy products. The Pennsylvania Dairy Promotion Program (PDPP) and the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association will host a joint exhibit at the annual event, Aug. 15-17, at the Ag Progress Days grounds in Rock Springs.

All dairy farmers and those affiliated with the dairy industry are invited to visit the joint exhibit in Dairy & Livestock Tent #1 to learn about local and national dairy promotion efforts, including 3-A-Day™ of Dairy, school milk initiatives, Burger King®’s new single serve-milk, dairy vending and more. Look for the 3-A-Day of Dairy tent where a dairy promotion timeline will show dairy checkoff’s progress in building demand for milk and dairy products since the program began in 1984.

Pennsylvania Dairy Promotion Program and Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association are the local planning and management organizations funded by dairy farmer checkoff dollars. They work closely with Dairy Management Inc.™ and are responsible for increasing demand for U.S. produced dairy products on behalf of Mid-Atlantic dairy farmers.
