All-American Banquet to Showcase Dairy Checkoff Programs

PHILADELPHIA (September 11, 2006) - Pennsylvania’s dairy promotion organizations are joining forces at the 2006 All-American Dairy Show by sponsoring the annual exhibitor banquet and highlighting local dairy checkoff programs that work to increase dairy product demand.

Dairy farmers attending the banquet on Sept. 19 at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pa. will receive local and national dairy checkoff program information, including updates on school milk programs and the Burger King® single-serve milk initiative. Dairy farmers also will have the opportunity to sign up to win a 3-A-Day of Dairy™ fleece jacket as a thank you for their continued support of the dairy checkoff program.

“We are pleased to be able to work together to support the All-American Dairy Show by sponsoring the exhibitor banquet again this year,” said Alexa Stoner, industry relations manager for Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association. “In addition, we feel this is a great opportunity to show dairy farmers how checkoff programs are working to create lifelong dairy consumers and provide producers with long-term value for their investment.”

In addition to sponsoring the banquet, the dairy promotion organizations — including  Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association and Pennsylvania Dairy Promotion Program —  are exhibiting throughout the All-American Dairy Show. Show visitors will be able to learn more about local promotion programs and how the dairy checkoff program is working with industry partners to move more milk.

Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association and Pennsylvania Dairy Promotion Program are the local planning and management organizations funded by dairy farmer checkoff dollars. They work closely with Dairy Management Inc.™ and are responsible for increasing demand for U.S. produced dairy products on behalf of area dairy farmers.
