New Print Ad Features Burger King’s ‘The King’ Wearing a Milk Mustache

PHILADELPHIA (February 20, 2007) – To help increase milk sales at the nation’s No. 2 quick-serve restaurant chain, America’s dairy farmers have partnered with Burger King® in a national “got milk?®” milk mustache print ad that features the chain’s mascot, “The King.” The ad is the latest in a broad-reaching marketing effort to help increase the sale of single-serve white and chocolate Hershey’s® milk in plastic bottles.

In 2006, Burger King introduced the new milk offering at more than 7,500 restaurants across the country. Dairy Management Inc.™ (DMI), which manages the national dairy producer checkoff, worked together with the chain to introduce the new milk offerings as part of a long-term effort to make milk the beverage of choice for our nation’s children.

Through DMI, dairy producers have invested roughly $600,000 to help promote the new milk offerings, while Burger King has invested millions to support milk as part of its overall kids’ and adult meals.

Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association is the local dairy-farmer funded regional promotion organization responsible for increasing milk and dairy product demand throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association works closely with Dairy Management Inc.™, the national dairy promotion organization, to implement dairy promotion, education and research programs locally.
