Career Connections Charter High School Got It…Milk!

Career Connections Charter High School’s (CCCHS) got it. Milk, that is! A recipient of the 2007 3-A-Day™ of Dairy Nutrition Education Grant, school nurse Lisa Allen and the CCCHS wellness committee are increasing awareness of the nutritional value and health benefits of dairy foods.
To promote milk as a healthful and great-tasting beverage, the wellness committee developed a series of posters featuring students and staff sporting their best milk mustaches. According to Allen, the posters are not only entertaining but also teach teens about the nutritional value of milk.
The wellness committee hopes that exposure to positive lifestyle messages, such as enjoying three servings of milk or milk products daily, will encourage habits that students will carry with them for the rest of their lives. After all, we never outgrow our need for milk.
