Dairy Spot: The Mid-Atlantic Spot for Dairy

Dairy Excellence Awards

We are in a calcium crisis, according to USDA; with 7 out of 10 teen boys and 9 out of 10 teen girls not getting the calcium they need.

Awards Information

This calcium crisis highlights the importance of encouraging school age children to consume three servings a day of milk, cheese or yogurt.

As the dairy industry strives to recapture milk’s place as students’ beverage of choice, we look to Child Nutrition Supervisors as partners in reaching this goal.

The Dairy Councils of Pennsylvania want to recognize outstanding success stories promoting increases in milk consumption in Child Nutrition Programs grades K-12.

Go here to download the Dairy Excellence Award application to describe your success story. We’ll honor the top two success stories with a grand prize and an honorable mention award. Application deadline is December 15, 2006.

Grand Prize:

  • 3-A-Day dairy vending machine
  • Free products for first fill
  • Student vending incentives valued at $250
  • 3-A-Day aprons for cafeteria staff
  • Registration for one at either the 2007 SNA Annual Nutrition Conference in Chicago, or the Child Nutrition Industry Conference in Orlando.

Honorable Mention:

  • Registration for one at either the 2007 SNA Annual Nutrition Conference in Chicago, or the 2007 Child Nutrition Industry Conference in Orlando.

Brought to you by the Dairy Councils of Pennsylvania.
