Cathy Kenefick, food service director for McGuffey School District, recently enhanced the school district’s foodservice program by converting to 8-ounce, single-serve, plastic milk bottles on the meal line. She also introduced a healthy vending program by adding three dairy vending machines that sell various milk and dairy foods, along with other healthy choices
By implementing the “New Look of School Milk,” McGuffey School District received in September a grant from Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association to purchase two drop-front coolers with cow-spot graphics and “got milk?®” signage. The new coolers help to merchandise the milk effectively and fit in nicely with the food court atmosphere in the cafeteria.
McGuffey School District also received a grant from Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association to assist with the purchase of the new dairy vending machines.
