Kingsway Regional Middle School Gets Ready to Fuel Up to Play 60

Kingsway Regional Middle School, Woolwich Township, N.J., celebrated its Fuel Up to Play 60 kick-off event on March 3. The cafeteria rocked as 7th and 8th grade students participated in the festivities. Julie Riggi, certified school nurse and Fuel Up to Play 60 advisor, set the stage by displaying the banner, posters and the cube. The Fuel Up to Play 60 DVD played on the big presentation screen. The students were treated to variety of fruits and vegetables and milk in 8-ounce plastic bottles. The physical education teachers led the students in “up, out of their seats” activities. The event celebrity was Chef Poon, who spoke to the students about benefits of eating healthfully and being physically active. He also demonstrated his culinary skills as he showed students how to make spectacular creations out of fruits and vegetables: a rose from a potato, a heart from a cucumber and a dragon from watermelon.
